The European Union’s Erasmus+ programme is a funding scheme to support activities in the fields of Education, Training, Youth and Sport.

The Programme is made up of three so-called “Key Actions” and two additional actions. They are managed partly at the national level by National Agencies and partly at the European level by the EACEA. The European Commission is responsible for Erasmus+ policies and oversees the overall programme implementation.

Leonardo DaVinci

Leonardo da Vinci focused on vocational education and training. It addressed both the learning and teaching needs in the sector, namely trainees in vocational education, teachers and trainers, institutions and educational bodies, enterprises, associations, social partners and bodies relating to either lifelong learning or the labour market.

Grundtvig

The aims of the Grundtvig sectoral programme are:

  • To promote European co-operation in lifelong learning;
  • To improve the training of adult educators;
  • To encourage the development of innovative materials and resources;
  • To stimulate the debate of lifelong learning and encourage the sharing of good practice.

The Grundtvig sectoral programme is open to every organisation, working in the field of Adult learning and development, including providing learning opportunities in:

  • Formal;
  • Non-Formal; and
  • In-Formal Adult Education.
